With Jesus
At 3:23 pm on July 1st, Teresa has ridden her princess bike into Heaven
to meet Jesus. She had her ears pierced shortly before her last
breath. While we were not there when she took her first breath,God
blessed us to be there when she took her last.
So, so sorry . . . heartbreaking . .

My heart breaks for you and your family. I've know the great pain of losing a child as my first born went to be with Jesus following heart surgery at the age of 17 months. Bless you for bringing her home from China and giving her a family to love her. We too have a precious daughter from China adopted 2 1/2 years ago.

It is with tears that I read this. Teresa was a fighter and she has won the Victory for she is with Jesus eternally. I am glad she had her ears pierced too. You are all amazing. Teresa was here for a short time but she left a legacy of love to people everywhere. Although we have never met in person I will always remember this little warrior and all of you.

ReplyDeleteI've been trying to prepare myself for this post for a week, and I still burst out sobbing when I read it. I'll always remember the toddler in the stroller, earnestly demolishing an ice cream cone on a hot day in Guangzhou... the little girl laughingly declaring, "I beat you!" when we were rolling a ball back & forth at a CNY event... the shining example of a little child who refused to allow any physical constraints to interfere with her love of life and full enjoyment of all it has to offer and who lovingly taught us all so much about how to live in the too-short time she was here with us.

ReplyDeleteI wish the miracle God had in mind for Teresa was the same you (all of us) wanted so badly. She has touched so many lives and brought so many people together for good. Now and forevermore she truly can renew her strength, mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint.
A Christmas hymn in honor of your beautiful Christmas baby:
ReplyDelete1. Your little ones, dear Lord, are we, and come your lowly bed to see; enlighten ev'ry soul and mind, that we the way to you may find.
2. With songs we hasten you to greet, and kiss the ground before your feet. Oh, blessed hour, oh, sweetest night that gave you birth, our soul's delight.
3. Oh, draw us wholly to you, Lord, and to us all your grace accord; true faith and love to us impart, that we may hold you in our heart.
4. Until at last we too proclaim, with all your saints, your glorious name; in paradise our songs renew, and praise you as the angels do.
I will continue to pray for God's mercy and grace for you in this time of such great sorrow, even as we envision your little Teresa joining the saints of heaven.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I will never forget her beautiful angelic face or tenacious spirit.

God Bless and keep you all and give you strength to bear your sorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite poems. I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you:
''I'll lend you for a little while a child of mine, God said,
For you to love the while she lives, and mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or forty two or three,
But will you, 'til I call her back, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you. And should her stay be brief,
You'll always have your memories as solace in your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn.
I've looked this whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the folk that crowd life's lane, I have chosen you.
Now will you give her all your love and not think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again.
I fancy that I heard them say, 'Dear God Thy will be done',
For all the joys this child will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may,
And for all the happiness we've known, we'll ever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her much sooner than we'd planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.''
I am so sorry for your loss but am so grateful that God gave Teresaa family like yours (and her to you) so she knew what the love of a family truly is. You will see her again some day.
ReplyDeleteSo heart sick to hear this news. May God now wrap his arms around your family and give you healing.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful little girl who is now singing and dancing in Heaven. Continuing to pray for your family.
ReplyDeleteAnn--We extend our heartfelt condolences and love to you and your relatives. We thank her medical team for its valiant effort. I've lived 37 years thus far and will never come close to touching the world as Teresa did during her 6 years on Earth. Not only did you provide her with a home and unconditional love, you made it possible for those of us around the world to come together with Teresa as our common bond by constantly updating your blog. You are the epitome of what it is to be a mother and Teresa was well aware of that. She fought harder than a large number of able-bodied men and has claimed her special place in Heaven. Although my heart is heavy, I'm comforted by the fact that she's with our Father and is no longer suffering. I'm better off for having encountered Teresa during my life. She was not alone and neither are you, Ann.

ReplyDeleteWe will never say good-bye, never. You touched so many in such a short life. That angelic face. I pray for your family as they will miss you so much. I do know that you have not left. You live on in each person who prayed for you. You did more in 6 and 1/2 years than many will not do in a lifetime. You love Jesus - I remember your Mom, Ann, saying, you said you married Jesus. And sweetheart, He loves you so much. I cannot see anything else as I cry except your sweet face laughing and Jesus swinging you in the air laughing with you. He loves you so much. Never, ever say Good-bye. We will all meet again. I know your spirit always, always, always will live on. I pray for your family that as they miss you, they will always be reminded of your sweetness and all the happy memories. God be with all of you. God Bless you all. In Jesus Sweet Name, Amen.

ReplyDeleteI was vacuuming earlier today when I felt God send me these words in case sweet Teresa did pass away. They were intended for you. I protested in my head that I'd never need to pass these words unto your family, because Teresa would survive. But God knew otherwise. This is what He spoke to my heart and soul.
"You had only three years with Teresa. But throughout that time, you made a cosmic difference in her short life. You shared the Love of Jesus with this child. She knew her Lord and Savior. And now Teresa has truly met Him. She is in Heaven. Healed. All because of you."
I'll find Teresa a special angel figurine for my bedroom, as I collect them.
--Peace.

ReplyDeleteAnd if Teresa's hope was in Jesus, then may the Lord cause you to rejoice, because she is free from pain, and she has begun eternity with her Savior!!! Never again will she have a problem with her lungs or heart.
May God hold your hearts in this time.

I have been praying for Teresa and all her family for weeks. Thank you so much for sharing her. Teresa had a special job to do on this earth and she did it well. Her strength has taught us the importance of love and her illness has brought organ donation to a new height. She is now at peace, safe, and happy. She knew a never ending love on earth and a far stronger one in heaven. My prayers will continue to be with you as you have to early to live without this precious child to hold in your arms. The love you share did not past on so draw strength from it and feel her near always.

Please keep Revelation 21:4 in your thoughts: ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” That is our hope as our hearts are breaking. God bless your family, and I will pray that he brings you peace.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers to your family.
ReplyDeleteOh my how sad. But why the heck would they bother piercing her ears before her last breath instead of working on her heart!!
ReplyDeleteTeresa loved Jesus so much she just had to be with him. You gave her the family that she wanted and loved.
ReplyDeleteYou gave her Jesus.
It was time to be with her bridegroom.
She left here knowing that she would see all of you again.
The sadness will be with you since you won't be able to enjoy her now,
but I'm sure there is also great joy in knowing
that she is in Jesus' arms with a whole, healthy, glorious body.
God is good all the time.
So very sorry for your loss. Praying for your family as you grieve.

Always missed but never forgotton
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing 'Teresa' and your family's journey with us. It's not the outcome we were all praying for-but we know that we will all be reunited again in Heaven. May you find comfort in knowing Teresa knew the love of your family and saw that you were always with her. She is now fully restored and marveling in the splendor God describes in Heaven. Teresa is laughing, singing, riding her princess bike in the glorious splendor of Heaven. Having seen the few videos you have posted of Teresa and many of your comments, she is probably asking Jesus "lots of questions' and showing off her 'pierced ears' :-). Sympathy to all your family. Pam M.
ReplyDeleteI cannot find words. Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful Teresa. She touched so many lives and is now "home" with Jesus. Sending love and many prayers that God will give you peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteWe all fell in love with your angel. We were praying with all our hearts for a different outcome, but the Lord wanted her at his side. From heaven may she still work her magic and guide other families to adoption, to help other babies who are suffering and bring joy to all who have gone before her. We will never forget this sweet girl. Thank you for sharing her with us, but more importantly, thank you for giving her the love of a family for the past 3 years. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your family.
ReplyDeleteTeresa had people around the world praying for her. She brought people together in prayer. My deepest sympathies to your family. It is clear that she was loved very much in her short time on earth. I will pray for peace for your family.

Whenever I thought about this sweet child, I was overwhelmed by how much Jesus must love her for her faith and her love. She has spread more love around the world than millions, just by humbly being her loving, fighting self. She must have been met by a huge reward in Heaven today.I have no doubt about it. May Jesus bless your family with peace and love.
ReplyDeleteWeeping in Phoenix. Words fail. We are praying.

ReplyDeleteI am a friend of Andi's. I will write here what I wrote on her Facebook post about Teresa: I am so sorry that Teresa didn't make it. What a wonderful family you have, who took her from a country and situation where she would not have received any chance and brought her here to be cared for in the warmth of a big family, where she had so many people who loved her for every minute of her short life and who will remember her for the entirety of their own lives. ReplyDeleteI have been checking on Teresa since the Today Show last week and have prayed and held my breath waiting to hear of her progress. I am saddened to hear of her passing this afternoon. Her story....and your family have touched my heart so deeply. Have peace in knowing that for the short time Teresa was with you, she was very blessed. Looking in her eyes, I do not think I have ever seen such a happy, lovely little girl! God bless you all!
